Since 1991, RDI has worked in more than 300 rural communities in the Northwest, and through this we have access to the Northwest's most important asset: people. We facilitate networking formally through events, online through our RIPPLE website, and informally every chance we get, so that the knowledge, skills, and experiences of the people we work with can be passed between communities that may lie far apart. If you are working on a project in the rural Northwest, RDI is here to help you find the right people.
- Virtual Networking
-
Our main platform for rural networking is RIPPLE, our community website: www.ripplenw.org. RIPPLE is a place for rural people who are often separated by great distances to connect and discuss the issues that affect life and change in their communities. RIPPLE features a community blog, stories of success in rural communities, and a resource page where users can find and post rural resources. You can also follow RDI and RIPPLE on Facebook and Twitter.
- Conferences
-
RDI conferences bring together the people we work with in the rural Northwest and experts in rural development to network and dive deeper into the projects and programs we bring to communities. Look for your invitation to our largest conference, Regards to Rural, and upcoming events in your area.

The Kitchen Table Project is working to create a series of interlocking activities to inform and engage Oregonians in the issues that matter most to their future. RDI’s focus on the project is working in partnership with the American Leadership Forum, Pacific Program, Chinook Institute, and RDI’s leadership network to ensure that we get broad-based participation throughout Oregon. RDI will provide training to leadership graduates to facilitate public forums and small gatherings in their communities across Oregon to help shape Oregon's future.
